Quantum Mesh Launches All-in-one Liquid Immersion Cooling Rack “KAMUI γ”, Enabling High-Density GPU Micro Data Centers with an Industry-First Integrated Design

First Public Display of the Actual Unit at Data Center EXPO, Starting April 8, 2026

Quantum Mesh Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hiroyuki Shinohara; hereinafter “Quantum Mesh”) announces the launch of “KAMUI γ”, the latest model in its independently developed liquid immersion cooling rack series, “KAMUI”.

KAMUI γ features an all-in-one design with a built-in chiller, integrating all essential cooling components into a single rack. With an installation footprint of less than one square meter, the system is designed to function as a micro data center, providing a complete computing infrastructure in a compact space. According to Quantum Mesh’s research, this is the first all-in-one liquid immersion cooling rack with an integrated chiller to be developed and commercialized in the industry, both in Japan and internationally.

The actual KAMUI γ unit will be unveiled for the first time at “Data Center EXPO [Spring]”, held as part of Japan IT Week, from April 8 (Wed) to April 10 (Fri), 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight.

Background to the Development of KAMUI γ

With the growing adoption of generative AI and high-performance computing (HPC), increasing power consumption and heat generation have become major challenges for data centers. As conventional air-cooling methods approach their limits in supporting higher computing densities, liquid immersion cooling is gaining attention as a more efficient cooling technology.

Furthermore, the growing demand for real-time AI processing and increasing data volumes have hightened the importance of distributed infrastructure that combines low-latency processing with energy efficiency, driving demand for micro data centers.

However, many liquid immersion cooling systems require external chillers and other cooling equipment, creating limitations in terms of installation locations and infrastructure requirements. These constraints have presented significant barriers to adoption.

To address these challenges, Quantum Mesh developed KAMUI γ as a more flexible liquid immersion cooling solution, with the aim of enabling high-performance computing environments to be deployed without being restricted by location through the use of micro data centers.

Key Features of KAMUI γ

KAMUI γ is the latest model in the KAMUI series, which Quantum Mesh first launched in March 2025 as Japan’s first commercial liquid immersion cooling system.

Designed for installation in small data centers, offices, and factories, KAMUI γ is an all-in-one liquid immersion cooling rack that integrates all necessary cooling equipment within the rack itself.

In addition to a heat exchanger and pumps, the system incorporates a chiller, which would normally be installed as external equipment. This eliminates dependence on external cooling facilities and enables standalone installation and operation.

As a result, high-density computing environments that traditionally required dedicated facilities can now be deployed as distributed micro data centers in urban areas and locations close to operational sites.

・All-in-one Design

All essential cooling components, including the chiller, heat exchanger, pumps, and PDU, are integrated within the rack, eliminating the need for external cooling equipment. The system can be independently installed and brought into operation immediately with only a power supply.

・High Density and Space Efficiency

Supports an 8U liquid immersion cooling configuration plus a 2U air-cooled configuration, accommodating servers with a maximum depth of 950 mm.

・Excellent Portability and Low-Noise Operation

Suitable for replacing existing air-cooled racks, as well as deploying and expanding distributed edge data centers.

Through KAMUI γ, Quantum Mesh will continue to advance the development of high-density, energy-efficient computing infrastructure required in the AI era, while accelerating the adoption of distributed infrastructure through the expansion of micro data centers.

At Data Center EXPO, beginning on April 8, 2026, Quantum Mesh will also exhibit the actual KAMUI γ unit, showcasing the potential of next-generation infrastructure and micro data centers powered by liquid immersion cooling.

About Quantum Mesh Inc.

Quantum Mesh Inc. develops and operates portable data centers designed to securely protect information and support advanced computing operations.

The company provides an environment in which vast amounts of information assets can be protected with world-class security and effectively utilized through advanced computing capabilities. Quantum Mesh also envisions future smart cities powered by AI and IoT, with data centers serving as their foundation, and aims to realize what it calls “the right kind of digital transformation (DX)”.

About KAMUI

“KAMUI” is a single-phase, closed-loop liquid immersion cooling system independently developed by Quantum Mesh. The sysem efficiently absorbs heat generated by servers by directly immersing the servers in dielectric coolant.

In this system, the heated coolant absorbs heat from the servers and is subsequently cooled through heat exchange with natural groundwater, which maintains a stable temperature of 14–18℃ throughout the year.

The electricity required for cooling is reduced to less than one-tenth of that required by conventional air-conditioning based cooling methods. This enables the entire data center to achieve a world-class Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.03–1.04.

The KAMUI series currently consists of three models: “KAMUI β”, designed for large-scale operations and high-efficiency cooling; “KAMUI α”, optimized for small-scale deployments; and “KAMUI γ”, featuring an all-in-one design for flexible installation and operation.
